COMPASS is a prescribing information system developed to provide GPs with feedback on their prescribing (COMPASS Prescribing Report). This is supplemented with evidence based advice on the use of medicines which is provided to GPs and pharmacists (COMPASS Therapeutics Notes).

COMPASS Therapeutic Notes can now play a part in the continuing professional development of General Practitioners and Pharmacists in Northern Ireland. Each COMPASS Therapeutic Notes bulletin that is issued from January 2003 will constitute two hours of professional development time.
